Just got new fronts fitted at local tyre place, dropped the wheels off (don't like them fannying about with air wrenches) and they have fitted RE 050 A, obviously did not have the car with me when I picked them up and the tread pattern is diffewrent and they are non directional! Is this a newer pattern or are there different models of the RE050?

RE050A is the new 'stock' tyre for 16" rims...but if yours is an '04 they should have used RE050's.

That said, the -A (asymmetric, hence why not directional) is supposed to be a good 'all-round' tyre, and a few people on s2ki prefer it (although equally as many get confused between the two, so you never can be sure which tyre someone is praising/slating!!!).
