s2000 top speed?

Anyone one on here driving down the A1 in a S2000 on the 17th june towards Hull/Leeds?

What is the top speed of an S2000? Is it much higher than a civic?

Saw 156 on my 1st S a few years ago (private road or autobahn, I can't remember now )

S2000 top-speed not THAT much higher than an ITR or CTR, but the difference is that above 100 it gets there quite a bit quicker.

Made me realise (even more than the 'teg did) that the mark of a truly quick car is its' ability to pile on the speed well into 3-figures without really letting-up...

Never been that fast in mine. Value my licence too much! (Bought my S2K for the acceleration). What sort of revs are you doing when maxed out? (I take it you are in 6th gear).

Can't remember, but right up near the top end - didn't hit the limiter though

5th gear is 16mph per 1000rpm I think,
6th gear is 19.16 mph per 1000rpm I think.

So max 5th at 9000rpm at 144mph.

156 mph would mean 8142 revs.....

Sounds about right.
I had my rev limit tweaked to 9200 .. still just under a theoretical 180mph.

How did you have it "tweaked" to 9200, that's the standard rev limit AFAIK?

Its just i was driving m k20 powered mini down a very long private road the other day and ended up having a little race with an s2000. we got up to around 155mph, and i was just wondering how much more the s2000 had left. I was prity much flat out at 8500rpm but can go to 9200.

155mph in a Mini, 100mph in Min is bloody scary so 155 you must be stting bricks, hows the steering?

Its ok, steering is good. Its not quite a standard mini in any way.
But yes it is still f**king doing 155mph with your back side around 2" off the road!

MR MiniVan, how much power are you running at the wheels? I was under the impression 140-150 was absoulute VMAX for a minis areo design/lack of.....

155MPH? with a 700rpm reserve... you might be in line for some records...... a EVO10 or sti with 300bhp is done at 155mph...

I must say i am well impressed.
