that isn't really a problem. do you guys think the only way is to go for a full system (including manifold)
i heard the best way for road use and a tad more grunt is to just go for a cat-bacl system.
i have de-catted mine, and the engine management light came on, you will have to buy a resistor from cpl racing,here is the write up on it.
On the current Honda Civic Type R a great way to add extra power and torque is to change the standard manifold for a race manifold, however in doing so it is necessary to remove the catalytic converter. This in turn will cause an error code within the ecu, and illuminate the engine check light on the dashboard. CPL Racing have overcome this problem with the advent of our 02 sim.
The 02 sim is wired into the secondary oxygen sensor and comes with full instructions and all the parts needed to fit.

Lot of people have done it and there isn't as many blown k20s.The 02 sim is bit of a bodge, Hondata is a better way to go and you can run a more agressive engine map at the same time
