but haven't seen one in the flesh. Has anyone near me (south hants) got one I can have a cheeky nosy at before I drive all the way to somerset to have a look? My local dealer hasn't got any in
If not can any of you who have one give me the pros and cons of owning one?
Cheers!

You're better of with an Exec model over the Type-S. The 2.4 engine and transmission is just the same, as is the suspension.
The execs are much better specced and sell for about the same amount of money secondhand.
My experience with a Tpye-S saloon over 120,000 miles was very positive. Super reliable, nippy enough and very well screwed together.

Picked up my 04 plate Tourer yesterday. 2.2 cdti in Indigo Blue Pearl with biscuit leather. 250 mile drive home was most pleasant, never missed a beat. Torquey engine pulls very nicely so overtaking is a breeze and the stereo is very good for a standard fit job. Only 24hrs I know, but very happy so far.

Just for your info the stereo is made by Alpine. If you ever have problems with it, it can be repaired by them by sending it away to their UK based repair shop. Not all dealers are aware of this or like to publicise it. The only downside is that to send the stereo away, you also need to send the entire climate control unit from the dash, which means no ventilation control whilst it's away.Rob

Thanks for the info, 10PS. Just need to find myself a decent independent Honda spannerman now. I hear the dealers lay it on a bit thick with the hourly rate.Had the car nearly 48 hours now and even the wife is enthusing about driving it! (she can be hard to please at the best of times)
