Any White UK Accord Type R's?
Discussion
There is a chap on www.accordr.org who has had his resprayed white he is in the UK, all others are on mainland Europe.
AFAIK the only white Type R's were the pre-production prototypes and the first 100 cars off the line. Most of which were demostrators and the press launch cars. How many of those made it the general public I don't know.
Also, it wasn't a true white. It was Honda Championship White, supposedly had a pearl tyep finish to it. Supposedly the reason it didn't go through to production is because it was bitch of a colour to get a decent finish with.

If they did produce official white ATRs in the UK, one has never come up for sale. There are some knowledgeable and long term owners on accordR and no one knows of a single one. There may have been 1 white promo car, and chances are it is in a car collection/honda museum somewhere.
It doesn't come down to finish, as the championship white JDM EP3s where built in swindon and exported.

Hi, sorry for my ignorance but what is so special about championship white? Surely it has a paint code like any other colour that can be replicated by any decent paint shop?
The weather over here does funny things to it. It's very difficult to paint match a champ white car once it's been out in the wild for a while. aji621 said:
^^ if thats the case they wernt painted in swindon as there is no championship white production line there, the colour is so advanced it needs its own line unlike other colours... & the swindon plant just isnt big enough to accommodate it
JDM EP3s where built and exported out from Swindon. Not sure how, but they were!Gassing Station | Honda | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
