Have owned an EK4 VTI for around 5 years but I've not much to say as it just does not go wrong. I'm not aware of any known problems, accept for rust where the rear arches meets the bumper (due to the rubber arch liners holding water and muck).

check for: regular care and maintanance: civics cost more to run than the average hatchback, don't get one thats been skimped on..

rear calipers: these gum up for fun...

regular oil: the cars do 8krpm, and burn it when driven hard, don't take the risk

by this age, i would guess at it needing new dampers/ bushes...

make sure the air con works...

thats all i can think of from the top of my head....

which model are you looking for? 3dr? 5dr? hatch/estate? vti? trim level?

CRAP

Civic Rusty Arch Problem

The only real problem with these cars apart from the usual checks you do when buying a car. Yeah also check the oil as they do burn oil when driven hard!

Mine had absolutely nothing wrong with it the whole time I owned it. It was driven HARD too.

It was well looked after though.
