Insurance on a S2000 ??

It's a powerful rwd car with no traction control and an agility-optimised chassis that has the misfortune to be in the price-bracket that someone with a hot-hatch is probably moving towards...
...and when they try and drive it like their hot-hatch it bites them and ends up backwards in a hedge.
Not the car's fault (although it's not as progressive as say an MX5, nor quite as communicative), but it does mean that insurers don't like it.
(Believe it or not NSX premiums are a little cheaper!)

Just seen your current fleet. Why do you want to trade down?!?
(Seriously for a minute - the S will be more habitable than either V8, and you'd expect more reliable, but it won't be a patch on them in terms of 'experience' (although a well set-up S handles very nicely indeed...). So just wondering why the interest?)

Can't quite put my finger on it at the minute !! Came back from a long holiday and fancied a chnage, rather than do something drastic like sell my house and move abroad i'd thought i'd change my car !! Thinking about selling both cars and coming down to one car that can give me a bit of a buzz and be reliable and fun to drive, must be a convertible as well. The Honda was ticking all the boxes until Mr Insurance man stuck his oar in !!
worth paying the premium for IMO. No traction control can have its benefits and downsides, depending on weather conditions!
That said though, I was the stereotypical 24 year old (2 years ago now- sob!) coming out of your hot hatch (civic type r) and into an S2000. Sure, I had a couple of moments, but no accidents. I think the fact that you KNOW there is nowt between you and the hedge except your brain and your right foot helps a little. The car demands respect, but I had some of my most memorable drives in it- a fantastic lil car.
9000 rpm in the middle of the night, xenons blazing, roof down, is an experience to be savoured!
