Hi people,

I've had my honda Type R (53 plate) for about 18 mnths and While I still love the car I'm starting to want more power. I don't want to spend loads of money but wandered what are the best ways of acheiving higher BHP? The only Mod I currently have is an induction Kit.

Also seem to be having probs with my clutch lately and am Really having to force it into gear sometimes. Anyone else had such probs?

Cheers

If the CTR is feeling too slow already, then you'd be best cutting your losses and buying a more powerful car...get a turbo.

Tuning the CTR for noticeably more power is an expensive game.
You'd be far cheaper buying a second hand Evo or Impreza.

Clutches aren't normally a problem on CTRs.
2nd gear can be 'sticky' until the gearbox is warm, but then should be as smooth as the rest of the gears.

Maybe the previous owner was a clutch abuser?

Clutch. Possibly abused...Type-R clutches can go anywhere between 40k and 100k depending on treatment.

Cheap first-step though - get the clutch fluid changed (not topped-up, but drained and changed), see if that makes any difference. It's been known to help with S2000's...
