Will an atr run ok on ron 95 petrol, aside from a bit of power loss or will it be a total pig?

it needs 98+ fuel. not owned one myself but if it's anything like the integra type-R in hot weather, i wouldn't risk detonation (which holes the pistons) with cheapo fuel.

I ran mine on 95 for a while and it wasn't undriveable (due to that refinery blowing up) the economy took a bit of a hit compared with Vpower but then again it is cheaper.

Normally get about 28-30 on Vpower it was a little less with 95. You looking to get one?

Depends on the MY. Pre-facelift models will suffer pinking on lower octane fuel and require 97 ron +. Later post facelift models have a remapped ECU and will run fine on 95 RON, although they thrive on higher octane fuel.

Yep requires high octane. I have always run mine on 3 tanks of Tescos 97 followed by 1 tank of optimax/v-power what ever they will call it next......

Seriously though the extra few pence will return MUCH better MPG and have less risk of engine damage!! In cars like this its a false economy to consider saving a fiver at the pump!

PS ATR is a great car if you are getting one.
