I was wondering if anyone can help - I have the new Type-R and some div with completely blacked out windows reversed into the front of my car in a car park and drove off (didn't get the plate - however I live in Warrington and they probably had no licence or insurance anyway), basically they un-aligned the bumper and one of the lights, luckily the metal wasn't touched. We've managed to click the bumper back into place, there is still a gap between the light and the bumper, but it's not that noticeable, however the are a few very noticeable scuffs and black marks on the bumper where the paint has come off completely, I took it to Howard Basford and they quoted - £500! to re-spray the marks on the bumper - not sure if I'm being ripped off or not?!

Does anyone have any advice on what I should do? (Can't take it through insurance as it's on my boyfriends)

Should I take it to Honda and get a quote for a re-spray?

I just need a good job done of it but reasonable price - as it is on hire until next March, then I have to give it back...

Thanks for any advice in advance...

There's a ChipsAway franchisee in Warrington according to their website http://www.chipsaway.co.uk. Might be worth a call to them - a mate of mine had them attend to a carpark incident on his Merc and I was amazed just how good a job they did. Without seeing the damage it's difficult to tell if the quote you got makes sense but 500 quid seems to be about the cost of a spit and polish and issuing an invoice for most bodyshops. So don't expect to get too much lower than that!

I disagree there, I had a bonnet resprayed by a professional body shop, and the rest of the car touched in/valeted recently and had change out of £300. Very good job too.

Shop around!
