After 4 years of Porsche Boxster's (3 in total all 3.2's) I've made the change and got an S2000! What a great car! For some reason it feels a much more intimate experience than the Boxster, less toys but much more fun! I would like a bit more feel from the steering, but other than that I feel like I have seen the light! Happy days!

Have you driven a TVR Tuscan yet ?? Even less toys, very responsive steering and loads of fun....

Maybe something for you to consider for your next toy....
As an ex TVR owner who now has an S2k, perhaps he doesn't want to have to shell out a few grand for an engine rebuild??

Welcome to the fold! biggrin

How are you finding the drive compared to the Boxster? Do you think the back end feels more lively?

MX5 Turbo's / Super's have always appealled to me - they're getting a bit long in the tooth now though and I'm getting used to the Honda uberreliability!

I remember following Heebeegeetee back from the JapChat Wales W/end in his Supercharged 5 - that thing absolutely flew!

Hmmm...scratchchinbiggrin

I'll miss the 'leccy roof and the bombproofness of the build (but not the alarm system...count yourself lucky you've an '04!!!), but something with the same performance for < 1/2 the price does appeal...

I've just bought one too. It's a relevation. Chopped a 996 turbo in and do not feel short changed. It's a totally brilliant car. Love the gearbox, screaming engine, chuckability and bulletproof feel. Wind on the bonce motoring in 6 secs as well...

There's a lot of talk about how the Elise blows it away on here. Having had 6 and an Exige I would totally dispute this. Pound for pound it's one hell of a car. Elise is fab but as a total package I am loving the s2k.

Basically they are both boxes to tick. If you've not done the Lotus thing, it has to be done as well. smile

The only 'shite' spouted is that the S2000's rubbish in comparison to the Elise. Handling is not quite as accomplished but engine, gearbox are general liveability are better.

I agree, but if its just a toy and you have a more everday car as well then the Lotus is the choice. wink
