nice and tidy '96 spec. They are becoming a bit of a bargain these days eh?

I'm quite tempted by a 98 JDM to bring me back to Honda.

I hope you've refitted the standard filter? Anything else will lose you power...*

  • Well, virtually anything, unless you've gone for a very good CAI with a snorkel to somewhere sensible...and even then there's no guarantees...

you will find faster
you will find cars that grip more
but for grin v's £ v's reliability you will not find better.
Had mine for 6 years and cant think of repalacement. Except for Cayman but is it worth £30k more?

Indeed.

The DC2 is going to give me a real headache when I change it, and despite it being FWD, some of the RWD snobs should really try one because to me its very un-FWD like to drive, it resists understeer superbly, and instead offers a slight "oversteer" like cornering drift at the limits of adhesion.

As for speed, well OK maybe its not the fastest thing out there, but I find it can give even modern machinery a run for its money due to its light weight, and to be honest, its quick enough for most situations (and it certainly doesnt FEEL slow IMO).

It really is a superb car, by far the best I've owned - and I've owned and driven some pretty reasonable machines in the last few years. I just cant justify getting rid of it. Sometimes I wish for a convertible 2 seater car, however, the teg is just so practical, reliable, cheap to run and fun that it really is a jack of all trades.

Can you tell I like it then? wink

i love the slippery roads at the moment. i have added 20ml of ZX1 to the gearbox( along with new MTF2) which causes the diff to kick in quicker and smoother. It encourages you to boot it out of every corner, even round town at 20mph and feel the front end tucking in. it is so unlike any FWD which would scrable and wash out under power.

Have to agree with all the above, had my ITR over three years now and it can still raise a smile even in this weather. Point to point its a very effective car if you work at it, putting a lot of hotter machinery to shame, on road and track ime.

Add to that a decent boot, reliability and a very tractable and docile motor for pottering about town in and you have a very good combination biggrin

I've even done some long motorway jaunts in mine with no real aches or pains, those seats are fabulous. Ok the drone can be tiring, but the odd fourth gear burst wakes you up nicely I find...

Sold my dc2 six months ago and still haven't found a replacement!, kinda regreting selling her now as i've been out in verious other cars including evo's, and though there faster, nothing brought a grin to my face like my dc2.

I'd highly recommend you get yourself along to a track day to see what the dc2 is really about.
