Was planning on a £10k Elise but the s2000 keeps popping into my head. Mainly followed by the word "reliable". I drove one a few years ago. Loved the performance, liked the handling didn't like the lack of steering feel.

Is there a known mod for this?

sorry - should have done a better search. Found it now - strut braces and geometry adj. total £400. Does it work? am I right?

You will never get it to the levels of an Elise due to it being power-assisted.

I think the mods you mentioned above may offer a 'slight' improvement.

Yes...sort of.

It improves matters, no doubt (probably me that posted up). But it's still short of a Focus/Integra, let alone an Elise. There are a few people on the S2ki forum who've fitted hard-rubber (Mugen or other make) steering bushes which also improve matters. But you'll never get it past 'competent'. My only real remaining gripe with the car...

If the car is purely for fun and purely for you, then an S2 Elise is probably a better bet (VX220/VXT?) - it WILL be more fun, more involving, more everything-driver-related except for straight-line pace.

But if you've a gf/wife who you want to drive it, if you want to go away together in the car (and equally I guess if you want a car you can drive every-day without all the compromises of an Elise), then the S2000 is definitely worth a look.

Since the S2000 has dual wishbones, not struts, and the chassis has a very substantial brace between them, I'm convinced that bracing the damper mounts doesn't do anything.

I've heard good things about aggressive geo settings and I'm getting an alignment soon.

Upper front? Probably not much. Looks nice though! biggrin

A lower front brace? Very much so...made a tangible difference to the feel of the car.

Replacing the lower rear with a more substantial item also helps...although not quite so obviously.
