Hi

My wife's old shape Civic cigarette lighter decided to stopped working.
I have checked the fuse box underneath the bonnet but could not find any blown fuse.
Does someone knows if there is another fuse somewhere?
Any other ideas?

Cheers

Look inside the socket and you will see two pins.
Test them with a multimeter, should be 12v, if they are not check the wiring again.

They can bend out of shape so they dont make a good contact on the lighter (or whatever else you have plugged in)
You can easily bend them back with a screwdriver, just make sure you take the fuse out first, or you will blow it.
Had this problem on my Honda, and I think the lighers are all the same. It was caused by using a phone charger with a badly made plug on it.

Different car, but my 3 year old daughter dropped a 1p piece into the cigarette lighter socket and blew the fuse. Multimeter's the way to find out.
