Thanks for the info. I have one coming over with delivery mileage and as-new for sale, should be here in Dec / Jan. Doesn't appear to be anything out of the ordinary with the Litchfield list that couldn't be done - not too sure about an unlimited mileage warranty though! Even Honda UK are 60000m. I'm sure they offer a good customer experience, I try to ensure a very smooth sale here too
Litchfield might let you use his for a fee.
This is what he says on his website:
"Civic Type-R passes Euro4 emissions tests
Whilst our demonstrator was being used by the press we prepared another Civic Type-R for the strict Euro4 emissions testing and Model Report creation. Our years of experience with the complicated ESVA testing scheme meant that we are the only company to have passed this Type Approval requirement.
The creation of the model report means that we can now register these exciting new models for UK roads. We will also be allowing selected dealers to hire the report."

How's that work?
Surely if it's been Type Approved, then the same model imported by any dealer conforms to the Model Report - or am I being to logical?
The model report is created for an individual car, each car subsequently tested is assessed against that model report. As I've always understood, say you used a standard factory spec car to create the model report. You hired it out to someone who'd imported a car that was standard aside from a K&N air filter. That car would fail because it didn't match the model report. If the report had been created against a car that had a K&N filter, it would have passed and any factory spec cars would fail. As you say, it doesn't make a lot of sense. There may be sound reasons for it but I always presumed it was just a government money spinner. Surely if it's been Type Approved, then the same model imported by any dealer conforms to the Model Report - or am I being to logical?
