On that car Duncan I think graphite would suit it better...
...if the alloys are too bright they'll take away from the impact of the paint when you've finally got all the mud off it!!!
I'd also be tempted to do another pic see how an even darker shade looks...maybe a gun-metal/anthracite colour.
