help on engine managment light!!

Hi i have a y reg honda civic 1.6 vetec i drove the car on the moterway a couple of times on the way to my destination i have had no problems on the way back the engine managment light came on, the car still drove fine no problems! when the car cools dwn it turns back off! showed it to the dealers they said nothing has been recorded on the ecu this has happened 2x!
what might it be??]

get onto a dedicated honda forum and ask.

My mates B16c ecu has an LED on it that flashes an error code to be looked up.

My F20c ECU could flash me the error code by jumping pins with a paperclip.

When this happened with my old civic 1.6 esi it needed a sensor replaced.

happened 2 my 96 civic last year. engine light kept comin on. went to honda dealers, they didnt know wot was wrong wid it. they suggested u give it a goood thrashin . done just that 4 bout half an hour and the light has been off ever since .

Have you tried disconnecting the battery as this can clear faults?

O2 sensor? whats the fuel economy like nowadays?
