THE REVS ON MY ACCORD TYPE-R (2000-W REG) KEEP DROPPING RIGHT DOWN SO IT NEARLY STALLS. THIS HAPPENS NORMALLY WHEN I COME TO A STOP OR AFTER REVING IT. IT'S OK WHEN I LET IT IDOL AND DON'T TOUCH IT.AV HAD IT ON THE COMPUTER AT THE HONDA GARAGE AND THEY SAID A OXYGEN SENSOR'S BROKE. CAN THIS CAUSE THE REV PROBLEM OR HAS ANYONE HAD A PROBLEM LIKE THIS AND CAN HELP.THANKS RALPH

I know on older Hondas it can be caused by dirt in the idle control valve, but I wouldn't think that would be an issue on such a new car. So basically I can't help and this was a bit of a pointless post, lol. Sorry!

edited: actaully, it might be an O2 sensor - especially if it happens once the engine has warmed up, but not when cold.

I had a look on Autodata last night and the idle control valve is listed as a possible cause for the symptoms you describe, might be worth a look

Don't know if this is of any use but my old BMW 318i used had this problem, especially when cold.

It would idle too low then rev itself then drop too low (but even lower) and rev again, this would continue until if would drop too low and stall. This was a particular problem when you came to a stop at a junction and dip the clutch, I would have to blip the throttle with the edge of my foot while braking.

Had the idle control valvle cleaned but that didn't do much - turned out it was the lambda (sp?) sensor which was broken and just returning the default value. Had that fixed and it was perfect smile

Like I said not sure if that is the same symptoms are your car is showing.

If the tecks at the honda garage told you that they had it on the diagnosis machine and the o2 sensor was down i presume the engine management light was on? if so it is pretty conclusive that it is the case, was it sensor no.2 as well?
