Only thingI can tell you is to expect delays! I ordered mine back in March, Supposed to bick up in May, still not built/delivered. Now heard sometime in June!! Apparantly demand is outstripping supply!! Hope the wait is worth it!

Me too - order placed early March, told mid-end May delivery, then early June then mid June now the Honda salesman's given up telling me when it's going to be delivered. Keep thinking that it's not worth waiting, then I heard that the entire Type-R team had been reallocated to sort out their F-1 embarrassment rolleyes

I was in the same position as Hut, then on Tuesday the Dealer phoned up out of the blue to say it had arrived! I'm picking it up this coming Tuesday and I can't wait! I'll let you know how it goes after that.

That Clarkson character has written a piece in the Times online about the new CTR that makes it sound a real bone-shaker. I don't recall thinking that during the test drive but has anyone got some ammo I can use to come-back against those snidey comments about the CTR being a POS being put about by Clarkson-groupies? It's really not that big a deal but having some good driving experiences and positive vibe reported here would help keep me loyal to my Honda deposit

Don't think thats really a bad thing, it's supposed to have a firm ride, the nsx-r was/is accused of the same thing.

I think it's just because he put his back out a year or two back, it probably started it off hurting again and put him in a bad mood! I've just got mine and have just got back from Croft at the weekend about 600 miles in total. I can't fault the car and I'm really pleased with it. I certainly don't think the ride is a problem at all. It's definately firm but only the sort of thing you'd expect from a performance car.

to be fair to JC, many of the autozines have mentioned the lack of suspension travel from the rear torsion-beam. so yes it does corner flatter, but at the expense of ride quality.

shame really, as i like the looks of the new CTR, but my heart would choose a DC5 Integra. heck, i'm even looking at the Toyota Auris instead of the Civic .. must resist

you can’t fine-tune the angle of the backrest. You either sit bolt upright, like you’re at the kitchen table, or you lounge, like Sylvia Kristel in those early Emmanuelle films.
rofl he certainly has a way of describing things

Just called Honda to find out which day next week I was going to get my CTR and was told the earliest delivery date has now gone out to July 8. Apparently there are big supply problems across the Civic range.

i think production migh have slowed/stopped on the ctr til honda sort out the 3rd gear issue that they all seem to suffer from

I just heard that too - apparently there's also some sort of electronics problem with the dash instruments and dodgy paintwork. I put a call into Honda today to get the official story on this and expect a call-back tomorrow. If I can get out of my deposit I will cancel. Apparently Honda are charging the dealers 500 quid to change the name on the vehicle so if a specific vehicle has already been assigned to me I'll lose my deposit. Bu$$er.

my car has a slight 3rd gear problem but its liveable, going to wait til honda have a fix until i get it sorted, no point in even booking it in when i already know what they will say.

like i said its not too bad!

I'm putting my EP3 in for a service next week and they asked if I'd like to test drive one of their FN2's - yeah, why not, I said. Will be interesting to make the direct comparison myself after everything I've read.

We had two ep3's, went to the fn2 launch night and didn't like it. Went to an S2k instead, and now got a suntan and instant facelift when we hit vtec. Been on a couple of runs were fn2's were present and they seem to be as good or better than the old model, some have been delivered though, quite a few at Croft the other weekend for the btcc meet.

However it is to drive, it just looks so much nicer than the breadvan to me.

Personally i think its a bit of a shame the japanese didnt stick with this bodyshape for their JDM model, as I'm not keen on the saloon.
