Where to find +12v only when engine running?
Discussion
Hi everyone, I really need to find a +12v point (To throw a relay) in my 95 Honda Accord Aerodeck that is only live when the engine is actually running.... Needs to be zero volts at all other times including key at ACC, IGN, etc.
I tried a few of the abs relays under the dash but no good (Have probs with ABS so maybe that's why, only get +12v for a few secs after engine start).
Any help would be much appreciated as have spent most of the day looking for this with an avo meter!!!

Use a multimeter. You are looking for a 'switched' feed.
Earth one of your multimeter prongs, probe the other into some wires with ign on. When the meter picks up 12v, turn your ignition off - if voltage drops off then its switched, if it stays at 12v its permanent.
Places to try may be ciggy lighter, lights. May be a spare feed in the fuse box.
Good luck. Hope this helps.
Dont cut anything important though
Edit - Just re-read your post. Im unsure sorry
