New CTR test drive
Discussion
Just back from trying out the new CTR and I am seriously impressed.
The previous CTR was a let down for me - good but just not good enough. The new one though is such an improvement it seems a shame to give it the same name.
I may be going back to the dealer very soon to put a deposit on a new one. I'm feeling withdrawal symptoms already and I only got to drive it for an hour!

I've got a [previous] EP3 .. Love it to bits! Did you get a chance to corner hard in the new'un? I'm sure the new suspension will dissappoint me. Ok, it might feel flat and planted at low speeds, but i want a bit of passive rear-steer that only a decent multi-link setup can offer.
The 2.2CDTi might be worth a look if my runaround starts to falls apart.
Haven't tried an RX-8, but i'm not a fan of the oil-sipping Wankel. Looks great though and it's popular enough; at least two of them within a few roads of home. Conversely, the new (2007) 350Z looks horrible with it's bonnet bulge - room for the extra 10 horses?
I had the car drifting the rear very nicely thankyouverymuch. Trail braking into even tight corners was slick and smooth and only when I pushed really hard into the corner did the front tyres start to give warning of giving up and sending me hedgeward.
The ride was smooth to the point of being deceptive. None of the crash and knock I used to get from my DC2 while riding bumps and minor potholes. More than could be said for the PZ1 (although to be fair I think the suspension had not been assembled 100% correctly on the demo car - not a good though).
