Anybody driven a New CTR yet??
Discussion
Just wondering if anybody had driven one, and what there thoughts were. I have owned CRX,CRX vtec (1991 model), Civic VTi, Prelude VTi, S2000 (x2) and currently drive an Accord touring 2.4, so I do like Hondas in general!!!!
Quite interested to getting one.....any experiences. I am testing one next week.

Yep drove one last week 2 Hour drive....Current 55reg EP3 Owner..
To save a longwinded review...
IMO its lost its edge that made the EP3 so fun to drive, when I first test drove an ep3 3 years ago it felt like driving a go-cart. It was exciting, fun, a bit of a drama to drive but also practical. I new I had to have one.
Dont get me wrong Im not saying it was perfect...
The new ones seems to have sorted some of the poor points about the Ep3 (Steering etc) but while doing so IMO they've lost something, It felt far more planted to the road than mine but for me it was a bit more Golf GTI than road racer.
Im not a hater, but i definitly think the spec, design, drive etc of the new one has been driven by the marketing bods and the need to attempt to knock the GTI of the podium....And thats not what the Type R's about...

I drove one last weekend and thought it was superb. I hadn't driven the previous model but I thought that they had gone to a lot of trouble to make sure this gave you a buzz. I would compare it to the Golf GTi and it will be interesting to see what the Focus RS is like. It didn't feel like a souped up hatchback, it felt handled and went like quality which is why I thought it compared to the Golf. Let me put it this way. If Porsche ever produced a hot hatch, this is what I hope it would be like.

Yes. Last weekend I had a test drive.
New FN2 is more refined, smoother and less raw than my EP3. The engine noise is deeper, handling is good (possibly slightly more "glued" than an EP3), gears felt the same despite the different layout.
Interior has loads of buttons and things lighting up, tbh my old CTR did feel "old" interior wise after being in the FN2. Mind you I think all that computerised stuff might get tiring to look at after a while, especially at night.
No vtec "kick" although that's over-rated anyway.
Styling ... well never been a fan of the rear but I guess you don't see it while you drive.
I liked it but not enough to trade in my EP3.
