Civic 1.6 Sport
Discussion
Hi guys , new to the Honda forum. I am currently looking for a nice, reliable motorway muncher and came across the facelift (2004-) Civic sport. Will admit I was not keen on any Civic that did not look like the Type-R, but then came across the Sport - 42mpg, Insurance Group 6, 0-60 in 10.3 (not bad from a 1.6) and £8k.
If anyone has a Sport I would appreciate any comments about the car. Please, no suggestions that I get a Type-R. I would love to but cannot afford to run it!

I've run an MY03 Sport since brand new and it's a decent car. Nothing overly spectacular about it but it's everything I expected from a Japanese car. Reliable, economical, comfortable - all very non-pistonheads!!
Last year it happily did over 100 miles around Cadwell Park on a trackday when I decided not to take the Supersix, was v. comfortable on the trip to Le Mans, and was great fun as a last-minute stand-in for a few laps of the Nurburgring Nordschleife.
Only real criticism is poor feedback through the steering wheel.
Performance-wise? for a group 6 insurance car I can't fault it. You really notice when the air-con kicks in tho...
