1.4 Civic wanted!

What about MOT? I have a Civic 1.4 Tornado, 97R, just under 100k on the clock, that is due the MOT at the end of the month. Might consider selling instead of giving it a test.

Any reason your looking specifically for a 1.4 Civic, or you just fancy something reliable and subtle?

i'd say you were better off getting a 1.5 'lean-burn' 5dr model (1998) ...
oh wait a mo, you can have mine for £2500! (service, MOT, new bushes & cv gaiters, etc.)

i would consider the 1.5, that is an option. Its for a friend and the insurance needs to be kept down as much as possible so thats why we cant go to mad, shame. Thats good gives me some options. Cheers guys.

I presume this friend is likely to be young? Word of warning that the insurance on a Honda is high in comparison to more popular options such as Fiesta/Astra/Ka. This is due to the high price of parts etc.

Although they may not go wrong that often, they are more expensive insurance wise. At 22 with no NCB, my Civic cost nearly £900 on a fully comprehensive scheme

I'm 20 and with a years no claims (No accident ever, just didn't learn til I could afford it) It costs about 1.3k/yr.

They are expensive but I've never had to fix anything (save some bushings but at 90k and 10 years, what do you expect?).
