Hi All,

Been on Pistonheads for a while now but mainly used the Ferrari section.

My car history has mainly been BMW's with a couple of Ferrari's over the past few years. I've recently sold my 360 and have been thinking about what to replace it with. The recent Evo mag highlighted the NSX Type R as a possible contender but I know they were not officially imported to the UK and the supply in Japan was also limited.

Does anyone know what's the best way to get my hands on one?

I'll most likely need to get it imported but where do you start and who has a decent reputation as this is a serious amount of cash to spend.

Any help would be appreciated. I've posted this in the Jap section as well.

Thanks in advance

Kam

Good choice mate, but good luck. I asked newera to find me an NA1 NSX-R or at least a type S or S Zero, but they never got back to me, perhaps they could not get one, or perhaps I did not sound serious enough.

I was lucky and found one here in country. AFAIK there is 1 NA2 NSX-R which is the one in the mag, 2 NA1 NSX-R, one I heard was bought by Mr Flemke who posts here and he plans to restore it to it's former glory, and the other one is mine. There is also an Orange Type S. AFAIK none of them are for sale at the moment.

To put it in perspective good NA1 NSX-R are going for around £ 40K in Japan and NA2 for £ 65k, add import costs and duties and it could get expensive.

Best bet is just to get a regular NSX which is very similar to the r or S versions, make a few suspension/brakes upgrades and you'll be halfway there.

Cheers,
