Hi,
A friend of mine is ventruring into a K1-attack kit car, and requires an accord to use as a donor car.
However ovbviously he wants as much power as possible, and we are stuggling to find out what engines/differences there are between the models.
K1 say he needs a 1993 car, But ideally he would like a vtec engine is this possible?

Any ideas on engine types models.. anything! would be handy? and advice on what not to go for?!

youre help is much appreciated!

Wasn't the Accord fitted with a VTEC engine from 1998?

go to a wreckers and pull a JDM import H22A from a 92-96 Honda Prelude (BB1-BB4) should be cheap as chips. A lot easier than trying to track down a H22 equipped Accord.

Another couple of engines worth looking at is the Blue top F20B and the H23A VTEC. The F20B is from the JDM SIRT Accord Torneo, the H23A VTEC is from the Accord 4WD Estate. Both are from 1996 period i think from memory.

The F20B might be your best bet, high RPM's (9K redline with a few mods, to the top end) Excellent RS ratio almost perfectly square. And most H22 aftermarket goodies fit it (it is basically a H22 block with a Type S PnP head)

F20B (200HP)

H22A Type S (220HP)

H22A (mine, with Type S Head, M2B4 Gearbox and various go faster bits...)

Great thanks for the help!

Our biggest problem is in the UK we seem to get different engine options?...
it seems like everything upto 1993 was a JDM version?, then we got a mixture of american and uk models/engines?..
any idea of where i can get UK engine models as fitted to what UK cars?

Am I right on this?
