Currently running a honda civic (see my profile) and it handles well but lacks the pace to match. I was thinking about dropping a D16 in it as they are cheap and relatively nippy.

Does anyone have any experience of this transplant? What about any other suggestions for a transplant? What things should i be aware of whilst changing out the engine on a civic?

I have changed engines before on my golf but to be honest, they are about as complicated as lego.

My local tyre fitter has a 1.5 with a turbo conversion - fairly simplistic apparently, wouldnt that be easier?

Im not sure what the power gains are like though.

I wouldn't put a turbo onto a 1.5 though, that like putting an firework on a kite. Its bound to go wrong!

Weell this weekend opened my eyes...

Was in my mates 1.6 CRX 16v and was impressed by the speed of it, but we came back up in his EG SIR import and it was rapid. I loved the way V tec came in and the speed it got tooo All it had was a HKS super drager and a manifold but was so quick.

So if anyone has a Type R engine or SIR engine spare give me a shout because i have a spare credit card....

Seriously.

Just find a good CRX V-Tec, will save any issues in the long run.

Just offered a B16 out of a crash damaged VTI. Sounds like a hell of a good deal i have been offered and will find it hard to resist.

My car is getting the respray of the arches, new bonnet, import tailgate and spoiler with led, plus my new exhaust off this car which i just bought. new exhaust (HKS) ---> http://img265.imageshack.us/my.php?im

Once this engine goes in my car wil be mint and fast!! Whoop whoop.

B16 is a sweet engine - recommended.

Just don't bugger up the handling with silly rice kits or wheels bigger than 15"!

Don't worry about that! ha i have 15" Rota's on the go and the only bodywork i will changing is a import tailgate and import spoiler with LED brake light.

Look at my profile and the car is basically going to stay as is. The engine will lower the front of the car a touch as its heavier and its already running on coilovers designed for a VTi. I may also have a VTi interior on the go so it will be quick without looking like a chav mobile.

I will post some pics once it is done. Don't suppose you know anyone who has a Manifold for a B16A engine do you?
