I have just taken the cover off my airfilter box, it sounds awesome, but I read somewhere that there is a power loss! I this true and does anybody know by how much?

It will lose you a bit (probably a few BHP), but the noise is worth it! It does make the throttle response a bit softer though.

Yeah I've just been out in it, the sound is amazing but the car seems a tiny bit flatter, wasn't sure if it was my imagination.

Must sound great in tunnels.

Its a very small risk, but you are much more likely to suck up some leaves at this time of year.
There is a post on s2ki about modifying the airbox to make more noise while reducing the risk of crap getting into the induction system (without resorting to buying a full induction kit).

To avoid leaves, just grille the front of the car, stops them getting in

Or stick a pair of tights over the box!

There's all sorts of crap you could suck up, great noise, but there is a risk....

TBH, after reading about picking up crap from here and S2ki I decided to leave it on for now, does genuinely seem to drive better the original way!

The noise is addictive though!

More confused as to how the friggin boot opens from the remote? Sometimes it does sometmes it doesn't!

I'm assuming you've the same 2-button remote as most of us.

The answer is - sporadically.

I've found the most reliable method is to wait 1sec after the first press of the unlock button then a few rapid presses of the same button again...if it hasn't opened after 2-3sec, it's not going to.

The UK-fit alarm IS crap, and the remote is quite sadly cheap. Which sort-of goes against what Honda allegedly stands for.

I just thought it was a fluke the first time, when I read the manual it goes on about a completely different fob, so I don't really have a clue how to do it. It sometimes opens after you unlock it then press it again, then again sometimes it doesn't bother!
