CTR weird engine noise...

Have noticed a weird noise coming from the front end (assume engine) that sounds like a light spring or similar vibrating very quickly (almost like a 'fizzing'). It only ever happens between 3,000 and 3,400 rpm irrespective of whether I'm accelerating, decelerating or on a constant throttle.
Car is only at 25k miles ('03 plate) so I would hope nothing serious...

I've had 2 similar resonances with my CTR, both quite common and easily fixed.
The first was the plastic cover on the top of the engine over the plugs. The cure is either to put a couple of spacer washers on the bolts under brackets to lift the plastic cover clear of the cam cover, and/or bend the brackets a tad so it doesn't hit when it does vibrate.
The second (more of a metallic tinkley sound) was caused by the heatshield between the intermediate driveshaft and the exhaust. Get the car up int the air it's easy to see underneath. The heatshield cracked from one corner, probabaly through fatigue as it vibrated because one of the bolts was loose, which caused it rattle more as the crack grew. A new one from Honda was about £30, it took me longer to jack the car up and put it on the stands than it did to remove the offending heatshield and replace it, just need to undo 3 bolts and it comes out fairly easily, then refit.
