I've just bought my first car- picking it up tomorrow once insurance is sorted. 2007 Civic Type-S GT if anyone is interested.

Anyway, once it's on the driveway, are there any bits worth doing specific to these cars?
I know that valve clearances should be tested every 40k (ish) miles, but aside from that I'm in the dark. I am planning to do fluids (brakes, coolant, gearbox) and top up the oil. Getting some new front tyres soon, and will fix the three issues I found when viewing the car.
These issues seem reasonably trivial -
damp boot floor (rubber boot seal completely out of place so hoping it is that and not the rear windows...)

driver side mirror seems to be possessed and keeps turning outward until it reaches the physical limit (presumably the motors gone? - controls still work to adjust it although the previous owners method was just ripping it into position.. which he did while I was viewing it. Twice.)

trip computer screen is buggered - feel like this will either be a massive pita or easy as pi

thanks in advance- misguided 19 year old

Don’t know the answers but I hope it’s a good car for you. Made with over-engineered Japanese parts, but in view of age, best to find a good independent ideally with experience of these cars, to give it a once over, maybe timed in preparation for an MOT. Any service history with the car? Good luck 🤞

Hope you don't live up to your name!

The Civic 8Gen is very well documented over on Civinfo.com - All the issues you've mentioned I've heard of before, and can all be solved relatively easily; I'd suggest a search over there to save me retyping everything!
