Underside chassis, sub frames and suspension components corr
Discussion
Hello all,
New around here. 30 year old learner driver looking to get back on the road for some experience.
I'm looking at used cars and have come across a Honda Jazz Sport DSI 1.4 for £1,275.
I've checked its last MOT history and the owner has fixed the below:
Repair immediately (Major defects)
Nearside Front Suspension arm pin or bush excessively worn (5.3.4 (a) (i))
Offside Front Suspension arm pin or bush excessively worn (5.3.4 (a) (i))
But the last MOT despite a pass has the below as advisories:
Underside chassis, sub frames and suspension components corroded
Probably a silly question, but would this be a terrible purchase and guarantee welding work in the coming months when I pass my test?
If so, in my search, would there be anything else to look out for, particularly with the Jazz and Civic lines?

It depends on the seriousness of the corrossion and that depends on the tester as some rules require interpretation.
Yes, there is some corrossion, its at an advisory stage which means it could be treated with rust converter and then painted over - but ideally it needs examination before purchase / discounting from purchase, and possibly an opinion from a trusted 3rd party if you are unable to make that decision for yourself.
