Honda Integra Type S for UK?
Discussion
Having sold my absolutely beloved Audi RS4 in a moment of pure and utter insanity a couple of years ago, I've been crying and beating myself up over it, and at the same time trying to find a car that could replace it. Buy nothing could do this. That is until I read about the Acura Integra Type S. But there's no indication anywhere that this car will hit UK shores.
What do you guys think? Will we see this beast here?
I've had 4 Honda's before - a CRX 1.6 16, CRX VTEC in Celestial, another Celestial, and a Civic vTi and absolutely loved them. And would absolutely love for the Type S to replace the RS and be my 5th Honda.

The Acura Integra Type S is a very, very close relative to the Honda Civic Type R - the biggest difference being that Acura won’t / can’t use the Type R name as it is a Honda Japan brand now. The Type S name was a Honda thing, but Acura have taken that over now - see the NSX, both NA2 and NC1 variants, and now denotes ultimate sports luxury rather than the track-ready / capable image that Honda has with Type R.
Acura cars are all made in the USA (by Honda of North America) in LHD form - I don’t know of any plans for Acura models to be sold elsewhere, certainly not in the UK. Acura is positioned as the upmarket arm of Honda in the USA, and is almost seen as a domestic auto maker in North America.
The two cars are pretty close in specification - their images and marketing are aimed at different sectors and customers, but in reality are very close - more brothers than cousins. They share the platform, engine and gearbox, and many more components, but are not identical in every respect.

Thanks Dobly. I absolutely love what the Type R is, but absolutely hate how it looks. Way too out there. And that spoiler! Would've loved it in my CRX days as a youth. In fact, on my second Celestial I had a supra style spoiler. But at my current age, I prefer the sleeper look. There is the Sport Line but that too has horrific looks. The Acura / Honda thing - I've seen a couple of NSXs being sold here. I sure hope this could on the offestof off chances be a sign for the Type S. If not, my search for an RS replacement will continue.
