FK8 CTR servicing regime

Can any owners explain the servicing regime on a FK8 type R?

Is it annual/every 10k miles or is it variable, or is it a combination of both (does the dealer set as one or another)?

I ask as I’m looking at a three year old one with less than 15k miles & it’s been serviced 4 times in 2.5 years, sometimes at six months and less than three k miles.

It has a 5 year service pack so it’s unlikely it’s an overly paranoid owner as the servicing is already paid for & Honda would only service it when the car says so.

My service record states every 12 500 miles or 12 months whichever comes first. There is a service reminder system but my manual says that it provides information on which service items are to be performed. Have you seen the check sheets for the services or the service record? The mileage is not high enough for an additional service unless it's been sitting around for most of its life and did over 12.5 k miles in one year.

No I’ve not seen either the sheets or service record as yet. It’s at a main dealer so presumably they verify on their own system. It only did 1600 miles in the first six months ‘til the last owner bought it so I’m thinking demo?

Neither did it do high miles in the intervening years. What I’m wondering was whether the car had some kind of variable servicing & required services due to being thrashed!

It can be set up based on usage, I’ve had mine since new and serviced it once a year, I got it checked over before I went away once, so mine shows 5 times in 4 years. Mine has done 20k.

Appreciate the response. It’s interesting that you can seemingly set it differently, having had VW’s & BMW’s with variable I’ve never seen the ability to choose.

Certainly seems different from all the various other makes I’ve had too.

For reference I bought mine at 10 months old and have the 5 year service plan. Mine is on 13k miles and it's due its third service in November.
