Hi all,

It's that time of year coming up - and on the DVLA site it says I have to pay £180 for road tax on my 2004 Honda Insight Mk1.
BUT ... on Parker's it says I have to pay £0!

Does anyone have any insight (lol) into this?

Thank you! smile

Well I have an Accord type R 2.2 which costs me £17 a month in tax so I would say they've made a mistake.

OK all I now have my answer!
Turns out that if the car was originally registered in the Uk the road tax would indeed be £0.
But - it's not. It's an import. And as such i have to cough up. Every year. Forever. Until i die. (or the car dies! lol)

Thank you and have a great weekend smile

^Likely to be this; my DC5 Integra import is the same (though I pay £290 since it's over 1549cc).

The explanation I got was that imports often get put in as PLG tax band because they can't fit into anything else. So, my Integra is a late 2001 (and should theoretically be taxed according to emissions), but there's no emissions data for a 2001 DC5 so it can't be taxed on the 2001+ table. It also can't be taxed on the pre-2001 table (being a late 2001 car), so PLG is the only option. I'd imagine it's a similar thing for your Insight with it also being an import.
