Does anyone on here do significant motorway miles in one of these on a regular basis? Is 40mpg+ attainable if you drive like a nun?

I do roughly 350miles commuting on the motorway a week, and on face value the FK8 CTR seems to be more economical than Focus RS MK3s, Meganes, M140i etc….

Thanks!

Yes, I would say 40mpg is possible if you take it easy. 38mpg should be no worries.

They do seem to be unusually efficient considering what they are.

Honest Johns real MPG test which usually seems to be pretty real world accurate quotes 37.5/102%. Seems a bit optimistic?

I assume FK8’s take super only?

I do a 40 mile commute (mostly M1) in mine, a lot is 60mph due to roadworks and it quickly ticks up to 40MPG. As said, 38MPG is easy. Expect 35+ for mixed driving including some fun. You can put in 95-98 RON but it’s 98 all the way for mine.

In 50k miles with mine it got 32mpg

Thats with no real effort to be economical, quite a bit of enthusiastic driving and a 30 mile each way commute including some motorway stuff
But it would get high 30's in motorway conditions easliy enough though 40 seems unrealistic
It is however a superb car , well worth it

The main difference i notice is summer vs winter.

in the summer 40-45mpg is easily doable on motorway runs sitting at 70ish.
Winter it seems to drop to around high 30s/low 40s.

Very fuel efficient cars, mine is stage 2 remapped with mods and returns those figures above.
