Hi Chaps,

I am just about to purchase a MK9 Civic and it does not come with a spare.

Seeing a few space savers on Ebay for sale but not sure if they would fit my car.

What should I be looking for please?

Cheers Loose

Look on Facebook Marketplace too. Ideally you need the wheel, the foam insert to support the boot floor (although this can be bodged). the tools and jack. Some people sell the whole lot.

The most important thing is the wheel - 4 or 5 stud and the diameter of the centre bore (the big hole in the middle).

If it is a performance Civic, you might need to go for a 17" or 18" spacesaver so that it will clear the brakes. 15-16" is often OK on most shopping trollies, but if that is all you can find then you can still use it (for instance if the front is punctured, you can put the unpunctured rear alloy on the front and fit the spacesaver to the rear - a bit more faff)

Not sure where you are, but there is a 2012 spacesaver in Corby for £50 and comes with foam insert, tools and jack on Facebook Marketplace

I can confirm the following:

The Mk9 and Mk8 space saver wheels are exactly the same. So any Civic spare wheel from 2006 to 2016 would fit perfectly.

Part number: 06KITSMRG01HE

Plenty on ebay etc for around £50. New they are £182.

Hope that helps!
