It’s at 165k miles 22 year old car average condition of age. I really love it but don’t have much time for it due to other commitments.

A friend is begging me to sell it to him.

I’m just wondering:
1) what’s it worth now? Engine strong as ever but as you’d expect for age ongoing repairs of car. I imagine it’s not really worth much due to its high mileage and condition?

2) what could I get if break it? I imagine arts would sell well for this car as I was always buying used parts for it. The engine is still built proof. Might my friend be planing to break it? I’d be upset if he did as these coupes are very rare. Then again he is
A 90s jap car enthusiast he might just want to keep it as a hobby.

3. Though I don’t have time for it now I might do years later. Is there a way to store this for cheap somewhere? I imagine If I sell it now it’s gonna be really hard to buy one again for a blast that works?

Oh and it’s specifically the coupe I like though im wondering about the hatch too.

Thanks

It’s worth more while than it is breaking for sure.

What colour is it? Any rust?

A 22 year old EM coupe with starship mileage and no rust?biggrin, rarer than aliens dropping in to publicly say hello.

Wouldn't be phased by that mileage on a B series, as long as it aint knocking, easiest engine and gearbox to work on ever.

It’s black with some rust but nothing severe.

Did u mean it’s worth more if not broken? I was expecting £1500 to avoid time wasters which would have been what it’s worth a few years ago but al lot of these 90s jap cars seem to be marked up now. What’s a realistic price to get?

Thanks

Yes sorry, worth more whole than broken.

I haven’t looked at prices recently. Maybe £2k, maybe more. Depends on how many interested parties there are. If you do only want £1500, I’ll have it and I’ll send a trailer to collect it tomorrow thumbup

A good Civic VTI Coupe could be worth 8-9k in really good condition, maybe even more.
I wouldnt be too hasty selling it for peanuts without a bit of research for this reason. If I had some spare cash, and wasnt doing up my EP3, I'd be knocking on your door if its in good condition. As mentioned, its all about how badly the rust has taken hold. What appears to be a bit of surface rust on a few arches, often means the sills, floor and inner arches are completely knackered.

Why not add some photos of the car and see what people suggest?

It’s at 165k and previously obviously had the fast and furious treatment though I returned it to a more stock look. I guess the condition is measured by mileage In which case it’s definately not worth 8-9k?

Although 165k is nothing for the engine I continually repair other parts of the car which is to be expected at that mileage? And naturally the paint is gone.

Rust aside how would you define is it in a good condition to be fetching 8-9k??!!
Is it the mileage cos the way I see it a Honda at such high mileage will have paint issues, body issues and suspension etc start wearing away and in need of continual Maintenance.

This does have rust but not on arches. It’s under the boot area. Ill upload some pics but From the sounds of things though maybe 2-2.5k is good for a 165k, partially rusty em1 which is in a heavily used 22 year old condition?

It really does have to be mint and low miles to get anywhere near that money.

I’d say the best way is sticking it on eBay and seeing what the market says it’s worth.

Deffo get some pics up here .
