How long should it take to replace an electric door glass regulator? It's a complete unit so no dis/assembly reqd. My local independent garage says it's going to take a whole day, but even considering the car is nineteen years old and may have rusty screws, surely that's excessive? Car is an 02 accord type R btw.

I don’t know what’s involved on the Accord but these things can be a nightmare. They will probably have to strip the door, remove the glass, then remove the regulator and mechanism. The mechanism can be gears/levers or cables. Cables can be problematic and require setting up, then adjusting and aligning the glass etc. before refitting.
A day seems “safe” for a professional outfit, probably a worst case scenario approach. It took me a day to replace the door lock on my Transporter last weekend, because it’s fiddly and awkward!

Thanks Griffter☺️ the mechanism is all pre-assembled and includes everything from the electrical connector to the glass holder so hopefully that should cut the time down.
