Honda S2000 ECU testing advice
Discussion
My first ever post as until now my S2K was spot on.
Just before I was due an MOT, my engine light came on. Thought, ok, probably lambda sensor, easy enough fix (did it myself before on my old civic and cost me roughly £40 quid, not £500 as I was quoted in the garage, someone thought stupid chick, let’s rip her off). Anyway, does not seem to be the case. So bf plugged it in and tested it and it was showing O2 sensor heater circuit fault, even after new sensor fitted.
He checked the wires, but it seems it might be ECU fault now as everything else has been checked.
So, as we’re not in any car enthusiast clans, we don’t know anyone who can help (without going to a garage and be charged something extortionate, oh, and my mot obviously run out). Did find site called ECU testing, but they sent it back as they haven’t got software for it, cheers mates, it would help to know that you specialise in like fiestas?
Anyone in Hampshire, Surrey area who could help or any ideas, advise please?
Car is S2000, 2007, 85k on the clock, careful lady driver??

Quite a few of our Beat forum have used these:

Based in Plymouth but they appear to do a trial ECU scheme

From experience Honda ECU's are extremely reliable but I do know Honda's can be very fussy with o2 sensor brand. Denso, NTK, OEM Honda are usually the go to's usually.
I presume you reset the code/disconnected the battery after fitting? Did the fault come on with ignition after new sensor fitted?

Probably too late now but I'm going to assume dodgy replacement O2 sensor (i.e cheap copy) rather than ECU fault here!
Actually that's literally what we're about to do, after looking into all of this a little more, just bought the genuine lambda sensor (£300 later) and will be fitting that in.Noone can actually check the ECU as they just never go wrong, so lesson learnt. Fingers crossed.
