Fitting AC to a DC2 Integra
Discussion
I know from factory AC was an option on the DC2 and one you could have fitted at a Honda dealer.
Has anyone had it fitted since, and if so could they advise on cost?
As the car was shipped without and it was added at the dealer I assume all the pipework is there even on those without, but the condenser/compressor/evaporator added.
Cheers in advance

I'd imagine there will be nothing ac related on the car and everything was added at the dealer. Not what you want to hear as it'll be a lot of parts to buy.
No, you're right!I'm fairly familiar with AC in another car and the issues etc on old cars. I know it cost £1k back in the day as a mate had one fitted when the car was a year old, was hoping with pipes etc there it's an easier job!
Cheers
Appreciate to some on an ITR AC would seem like heresy! But I always like AC on my cars where possible, especially on one with as much glass as an Integra.
I wonder how much the total AC components weigh on it, perhaps Honda did as per Lotus on their S2 Elise and made them super light, I seem to recall 18kg.

Total weight is ~19kgs for all of it.
I’m at ~50kgs out of my UK car now whilst being sensible and retaining full interior and carpet- so weight is now very similar to a Clio 182
Helps to offset the meagre torque figure and it certainly feels all the more lively for it
Strewth, 19kg is superb! Well worth it in my eyes, but on a car as light that's almost 2%!I’m at ~50kgs out of my UK car now whilst being sensible and retaining full interior and carpet- so weight is now very similar to a Clio 182

As a percentage that's huge, what else other than the AC have you taken out?

Had it on both of mine, but then they were daily drivers.
For the sake of 2% weight saving I'd want it left on for the convenience...especially where road-trips are concerned. Seen others tortured by European summer traffic jams because their chosen steed didn't have a/c...

A/C fully removed- lines, compressor, evaporator etc 19kgsAs a percentage that's huge, what else other than the AC have you taken out?
JDM alloy torque mount in place of cast AC mount (in conjunction with AC removal) 2kgs
Passenger Airbag- 4kgs
Spare wheel & Jack- 14.5kgs
Wooden Boot false floor- 4kgs
Rear mats 0.5kg
Swapped to JDM rear brace/impact bar- hollow rather than solid in UK cars. 2kgs saved
Floorpan ‘bitumen‘ sound deadening stuff all removed - 5kgs
Bulkhead sound deadening -2kgs
Also has a lightened flywheel (-3kgs) full JDM OEM exhaust (manifold might be a touch lighter than the naff cast UK version) Not weighed though....
So that’s ~55kgs by my maths.
Still has a full interior & looks fully OEM. Probably a couple of other bits I can remove too.
It’s difficult to get a definitive weight figure for a UK car- most publications list 1100kgs- however 1130 is probably closer.
I’m confident it’s 1075ish now in which case
without compromising it for normal UK use.
Pretty decent considering a Civic EP3 Type R is ~1240
I’d love to get it accurately weighed one day...
