So, for Christmas I was given this. It’s shiny new and full of untouched Autoglym products. I understand that the gift-giver acquired this kit for a tiny sum at an auction. My question is, as this has Honda badges on it, was it something that was given as an option on certain models? Or something bought in the showroom as an accessory?

I was offered 'lifeshine' for I think £299 as an option when I bought my s2000 in 2014/5ish as approved used from Honda... No idea what it is or does as I didn't chose to purchase it, and the guy didn't really seem to want to push me to buy it, but they wouldn't throw it in for free when I was haggling biggrin

That’s the ‘aftercare’ set so just has a load of Autoglym stuff inside that you can use on any car but yes it would have originally been supplied by a Honda dealer as part of a Lifeshine package.

It’s the usual proprietary wax treatment the main dealers try to flog you as part of a new car package. Cost price is about £50.... so you can work out why they are keen to relieve punters of (up to) £800. Ignore the bks about 24 curing etc; it’s usually applied 10 mins before handover after Sergei the valeter had forgotten to take the pack out of the parts department. It’s also removed pretty easily when the car is taken to the power wash roadside brigade.

If you choose to buy the "Lifeshine" option they give you this pack with your new car in order that you can "maintain" the treatment of the Autoglym products applied by the valeter prior to handover. I believe each manufacturer has their own branded bag.
