Big Giant test of just about every decent hot hatch on the market at the moment in EVO this month.
Very interested to see how the Civic holds up against the latest contenders - Focus ST , A35 AMG and Megane Trophy especially. Lots of miles in Wales and a track day at Anglesey is a pretty ideal overall test.
Hardly mentions the Honda for pages until the final conclusions
"While I make detailed notes on all the other cars here after each drive, my first note on the Civic is instead a list of things it doesn't do better than the others, but in some respects bests them by a huge margin: Dry Grip,Wet Grip,Traction,Brake Pedal feel, Braking power, Steering feel and weighting, Gearshift, Ride Quality Body Control, Stability, Build Quality, Driving position, Pedal Layout, Seat Comfort"
it goes on a bit more too but I don't think Ive ever seen such a comprehensive win in a group test of this sort
I don't think I can disagree about a single word of that - Still THE best hot hatch money can buy
