Now the winter nights are coming, I would like to fit a Xenon head light conversion (dip and main beam) to my 2015 SR civic can any one advise me is it just a case of buying the correct bulbs and fitting or do I have to buy a fitting kits as well. your help would be gratefully appreciated.

If it doesn't already have Xenons (HID) fitted then correct fitment is very costly as they need to adjust automatically and they also have different lenses (look like a bowl) otherwise you will fail an MOT and blind oncoming drivers on a regular basis. Your best bet would be to fit some good Halogen bulbs instead unless you can find someone selling a complete set up.

What are the best halogens on the market at the moment? I could do with a little extra punch without being a tt.

Osram Xenarc HID on my car for low beam and Osram night breakers for main beams. Won't look a tt but will see everything. Putting on HID beams on both low beams and main beams on a non HID equipped car is going to be far more difficult that I would like. You have contention issues with 2 HID systems, auto level sensors, wash jets and the small matter of getting new headlight projectors and passing a MOT

I'm sure you've got to have headlight washers as well with HID?

I already said that, and you need auto level sensors - doubt any after market jobbies will get thru a MOT now and if the car does not have HIDs at all you will need projector headlights.

To answer the last question the OP had, you cant go wrong with halogen main beams from Osram

Sorry I missed that bit. I do remember there being special HID bulbs which you could use in a reflector housing and which didn't glare, they had some coating over half of the bulb I think. I had them on a 6th Gen Honda Accord and they passed no problem. Got them from HIDS4U.

Irrelevant now though of course due to the other issues.
