Hello,

The transmission oil is due a change at 75,000 miles, then every 50,000 miles thereafter. time-wise, you should be fine, but you can always have a rough check of the condition of the oil via the dipstick. I personally will change my transmission oil (also auto, 2016 civic) at 50,000 miles (currently on 26,000) along with the filter (always change the filter - for these civics I understand it is a filter "inline" on some pipe-work).

Generally, you can't go wrong with shorter service intervals...although it will hit your bank account! transmission oils are quite expensive (compared to engine oils) and the process can be more complicated to get the fill level correct, so the whole process costs a bit more.

Insist on genuine honda ATF if you get someone else to do it. It's never worth the potentially expensive risk of using non-genuine / OEM oils on automatic transmissions!

Hi
Thanks for your reply yes the oil is liquid gold given the price of it I have a couple of litres over from when I change the gearbox oil on my CRV,
so I will be leaving it to 50k I did not know there was a inline filter for the gearbox, I am taking the car to the dealer for MOT and small service early next month so I will tap one of the tech up for some info will let you know if I find any thing out. Oh I was given another 12 mth breakdown /recovery cover FOC for booking the service.
