Warning, heathen alert...

I have 225/40 R18 tyres on my 09 FN2 Civic Type R. Looks fine, solid ride.

Would it be possible to fit smaller diameter wheels from another Mk8 civic, with a larger profile tyre?

Just wondering if I could safely run a ride comfort test for <£200 outlay, ignoring how pants it may look of course

You could fit the 17’s from an EP3. You could get away with 215/45/17’s on those.

^ but anything smaller probably won't clear the brakes.

I had 17" mitsibushi evo wheels on mine with 225/45 tyres. It looked and handled great!
No problem with covering brakes and mine had Stoptech 4 pot calipers smile

I've seen several reports of 16" non-steel wheels fitting and clearing the brakes. Tyre size would be 205/55/R16.

The red fn2 above looks spot on.

I run mine with 17x7.5 Volk Racing wheels with 225/45 and it's much better than when it was on 205/45

Evo alloys are a great shout, anything from Evo 5 up to 9 with 5x115.3 fits and the lower -38 offset helps with brake clearance
