Buying an FN2 - yet another thread query!!
Discussion
Hello All,
Im hankering after something fun. I thought I wanted a straight 6 BMW but reliability is obviously as issue with their N53 and N54 powerplants. That narrowed it to the N52 and something like the Z4 or 1Series which don't do it for me (unless it was the Z4 Coupe which are rare).
So, having driven Jap for the last 3 years, the compass pointed at the FN2. I know the GT version is the one to go for; the Mugen 200 looks as if its differences rae merely make-up and party frock; unmolested preferable and ones with LSD overall the better target.
Anything I have missed please?
Ty in advance

Avoid the 19's as the ride is hard enough without them, later cars got some sort of facelift which i think was HID lights, an aux input and LSD as standard (2010 onwards) GT spec is on 90% of them, they are very basic by today's standards but the cruise control is handy

Fast road setup. It’s cheap and the best bang for buck mod you can do. Some FN2s are understeer magnets without it. Both mine were.
Rust along the roof near the windscreen seal, common prob.
Check vtec engages okay. There’s no kick like on the ep3 though, Honda made the fn2 more smooth.
Service history or receipts to cover regular oil changes. Oil starvation is the only thing that can kill a k20, they are bullet proof.
Air con gas is expensive now, so if it’s a GT best check it works.
Get friendly with the lass at the local fuel station
