2017 CTR Car of the Year 2019
Discussion
I am biased as I bought one - moving from a deeply loved E46M3

I am very impressed with it despite the concerns I had at the start of my new performance vehicle search :
FWD vs RWD
4cyl vs 6cyl
Honda vs BMW (M)
Insane looks vs 'classic coupe'
It is an amazing machine and still winning awards 2 years into its life-cycle kinda says it all. None of my concerns manifested. I drove M3s on track a fair bit too so got to use them.
The ONLY thing that it doesn't measure up on is noise (from outside in particular) but I just call it modern sounding and move on
(I did look at M240i as a comparative lease but the CTR blows that away in all areas except the engine but little even in that).
I guess an M2 would beat it but look at the price difference !!?
Happy shopper !

They really are a fantastic car. I was watching a video of a guy looking at the details of the car - the areo, solving some of the issues like cooling etc. Honda have put a lot of thought and care into the functional aspects of the car whilst still providing something that can also be practical.
