I am looking for the security of AWD and want a bit of a "waft" that when asked can also shuffle and eat miles quickly. The Honda springs to mind especially for reliability .MPG could be a issue .But when doing long miles I take it easy.If its a real keeper then LPG might work ?

Just kinda find they a bit "Q" .Thanks

Don't forget it's a ' SHAWD ' (Super Handling All Wheel Drive) ! - I love mine, great build quality, very comfortable, quiet and can be hustled along when required.Around town 19-20 mpg but i've done a couple of long trips to South West France and managed 30 mpg overall.Road tax is high but servicing has been very reasonable by Honda, they're a bit different from the herd and for the price now, great value.
Buy one with FHSH and enjoy.

Finding one will be the tricky bit - they weren't exactly big sellers in the UK...

I missed a very good one on Ebay. Correct type seller etc.All looked good . Will try and hold out for one over the next few months . Just seem to be a huge amount of car that is reliable and safe. extra fuel costs can be offset against reliability which i have heard is like a Lexus ? !

There's a couple of occasions I've mulled one of these over...they initially look like a bargain, then you start thinking about what you NEED.

I think that's the issue - they're so niche as despite the size they're not really any more practical than an Accord Type S and probably no quicker thanks to the autobox...and they're notably less economical. Advantages boil down to being better built (presumably) and better equipped...

In Japan, the current hybrid model is available on the used market from 20k for a high miles 2015 up to 50k for a 2018 demonstrator with 2000km on the clock.
The previous version (2010-2012 3.7l ) sells for around 13k, and the one prior to that (2008-2010 3.7l) for around 7k, and the previous 2006-2008 3.5l for around 5k - this last one is the same as the version sold in the UK IIRC.

Agreed, the boot is not big but the ride is better than an Accord and from my experience routine servicing at my Honda dealer is no more than a Civic/Accord.There's just something about the quality, fitment & finish that feels right, as it was Honda's flagship model at the time.Plus they're different from the Merc/BMW/Audi alternatives.

Also the main point for me is the slight “Q kudos “ aspect . And the 4x4 . With the right tyres it would make a great north wales /French alps family car .

Will keep my eyes open for a good one . It’s this is a Subaru Outback !!

Get the one with ADAS. It can drive itself most of the time.
Awesome car.
