54 Civic high/ hunting idle issue

The car has been sitting around for a year, only driven very occasionally for short distances. It developed an issue where the idle was fine until it was warm, then the idle would oscillate up and down.

I cleaned the throttle body and iac valve, bled the coolant system and eventually changed the iac valve for a used one. None of this seemed to do anything.

I then left the car for another few months. The problem seemed to be a bit worse with an idle of 2000 and not so much hunting. I changed the whole throttle body (for a used one) on the advice of a mechanic, but now the problem seems to be even worse! It was idling at 2,500 after a 10 min drive.

Any ideas, or should I set fire to the bloody thing.

Not sure about a 54 plate but there was something about this with the earlier ones and the throttle cable needing to be re-clipped to the correct mounting point?
