Today I had a thought.

I have a 2007 Accord 2ltr iVtec. It’s got a very low mileage for it’s age (28000 miles) which I know is genuine, since I’ve done most of them in the 9 years I’ve had it. Now here’s the thing. I used to like stealth modding my cars, until life got in the way, and I just wanted a reliable and unremarkable car. However, that’s not a fire that’s easily extinguished, and I’m now itching to stealth mod this car. No Larey body work, no blingy alloys ( unless they are necessary to clear any brake upgrades ) but the engine is rife for a chunk more power ( I reckon )and the interior could do with a ‘de greying’. Has anyone got any experience in doing anything interesting to the stock lump in this car, or anything that might de dull the interior a bit? I reckon the standard oily bits would take 250 brake without too many traumas, I don’t want to go into too mental territory, but more than a remap could probably do.
I looked into this sort of thing in the past with my 2.4 but there's not a huge amount of options which add enough power to make it worth the money it costs and the hassle involved. A supercharger would be the easiest route but I suspect £4k upwards and then you'll need to start looking at other components in the engine bay, brakes, suspension etc. Then there's the potential insurance hike.
Easier to buy something that already has the power / performance.

Not quite sure how you think you can simply unlock 100hp from a 2L ivtec?
For reference even the CL7 Euro R (effectively the type r Accord of your shape) makes ‘only’ 220hp from a K20 motor.
Rule number one for me is if you want to mod it to be swift with any kind of financial consideration then it needs to be the performance variant to start with
